Barnardo’s National Choral Competition Finals

Our Chamber Choir had a brilliant weekend at the Barnardo's National Choral Competition! This is the largest competition in the UK and attracts hundreds of schools from all over the UK. It was an amazing achievement for them to have got to the final!

We competed against Sedbergh School (Yorkshire), St Albans High School for Girls (Hertfordshire), Ellesmere (Shropshire), Wrekin College (Shropshire), Harrogate Ladies College (Harrogate) and Cor Heol Y March (Cardiff, Wales).

St Albans High School for Girls were the winners on the day, having previously won in 2022 but our choir performed  brilliantly and did Newtownards proud! They had a great day performing at the Birmingham Symphony Hall and singing two pieces with a choir of 300 voices under the direction of conductor and composer Douglas Coombes . A truly memorable experience for them all!

We are so proud of them all! They will be performing at the Spring Concert if you would like to come and hear them!
