Swimming Success

The Swim Ulster Schools’ Championships were held on Friday 9th February at Bangor Aurora Aquatic & Leisure Complex and the Regent swimmers performed very well against the best swimmers in Ulster.

  • Mila Pickett in Year 8 finished 3rd in the Junior 100m Backstroke and 2nd in the Junior 100m Butterfly.

  • Christian Tait in Year 10 finished 3rd in both the Junior 100m Breaststroke and the 200m Individual Medley.

 The Junior Boys’ Relay team of Jamie Beggs, Joshua Wilson, Sam Milligan-Wright, Zachary Coulter, Christian Tait and Justin Sugabo finished in 3rd place in the Medley Team Relay and 2nd in the Freestyle Team Relay. 

Mathias Pickett in Year 11 finished in 6th place in the Boys Intermediate 100m Backstroke and in 3rd place in the Intermediate 200m Individual Medley.  Naomi Smyth in Year 12 finished in 4th place in the Girls Intermediate 100m Backstroke.  Aaron Haire in Year 12 finished in 3rd place in the Boys Intermediate Breaststroke.

 Kiera Aiken in Year 13 finished 1st in the Senior 100m Breaststroke and 2nd in the 200m Individual Medley.  Megan Diamond in Year 13 finished in 3rd place in both the Senior 100m Breaststroke and the Senior 100m Freestyle.  Whilst Zach Moyo, also in Year 13, finished in 3rd place in the Boys Senior 100m Breaststroke.

 The Senior Girls’ Relay team of Kiera Aiken, Megan Diamond, Naomi Smyth and Sophia Samir finished in 1st place in the Medley Team Relay and 2nd in the Freestyle Team Relay. 

 As a result of their individual performances Mila Pickett, Kiera Aiken and Megan Diamond have been selected for the Ulster Interpro Team 2024.

 Well done to all swimmers on a fantastic set of results!
