Boy's Hockey news update
Goalkeepers, Frazer Carnduff and Sam Hamill were selected as part of the Ulster Under 18 and 16 squads, respectively, in the recent 2015 Interprovincial series against Leinster and Munster. It was a pleasing week for both Ulster sides as both won the tournament not losing any matches.
The under 16s started their tournament with a strong performance against Munster resulting in a 5-0 win. They continued this momentum into the second day of the tournament with a close 1-0 win over Leinster and Sam was forced to make some very good saves in a close 2-1 win over Munster. Going into the final day the under 16s only needed a draw to reclaim the interpro title and after a very close game with Leinster they managed to keep the score line at 0-0.
The under 18s also started their tournament with a strong 4-0 win over Munster, although Frazer was called into action a few times during the game making some good saves to keep the clean sheet. Going into the second day the under 18s had to face a very strong Leinster side who were trying to win for the sixth year running, but after a very tight game Ulster came out on top with a 1-0 win. They followed up that win with an 8-2 thrashing over Munster and they also went into the final day only needing a draw to win the tournament. Ulster came out on top with two early goals in the first half with resulted in a 2-0 win and a 100% record.
