Regent Air Cadets soar at Royal International Air Tattoo
Six Cadets from 2241 (Regent House School) Air Training Corps attended the Royal International Air Tattoo camp at RAF Fairford last week. They were part of an 800 strong Cadet camp including 28 cadets and 5 staff from the Northern Ireland Wing that supports the show every year.

Whilst there, Cadet Warrant Officer Ryan Rafferty was presented with a Certificate of Good Service by Air Commodore Dawn McCaffery, RAFR Commandant Air Cadets, for his service with the Squadron and the Corps National Pipe Band. It was presented prior to his attendance at the RIAT Gala Dinner with Commodore McCaffery, Hon Gp Cpt Carol Vorderman and Chiefs of the Airstaff and other VIPS from around the world.
On the final day of the camp Cdt Cpl Matthew McClune, 2241 Sqn was presented with the RIAT Best Cadet award at camp. His award of twenty hours of training with Oxford Aviation will take him halfway to getting his private pilot’s licence and a huge first step towards his ambition of becoming a pilot.
Matthew was working on the Special Work and Tasking team who assist with various tasks on the camp and show sites. Very well done and deserved Matthew, a credit to 2241, Northern Ireland Wing and the Corps as a whole.
