Regent Choir Ulster Hall Performance

On an icy cold Saturday morning, the Senior Choir and Chamber Choir ventured to Belfast’s iconic Ulster Hall, to rehearse and perform in the BBC’s ‘Ten Pieces’ Family Concert.

After an initial warm-up with Mr McQueen, our pupils (and teachers!) took their seats behind the Ulster Orchestra to practice ‘Zadok the Priest’ with conductor Rory Macdonald.

After a few run-throughs, and a sound check, it was lunchtime - Nando’s, Pizza Express and the Christmas Market being popular choices.

On returning to the Ulster Hall, concert-goers were queued outside, and excitement started to build as the final audience seats were filled.

Presenters John Toal and CBBC’s Naomi Wilkinson gave a warm welcome to Regent House and the choir gave an excellent performance!

The event was recorded for broadcast on BBC Radio Ulster’s Classical Connections and can be found on BBC iPlayer by clicking here - we can be found at 23min 30s!
