Year 13 physicists take part in the BT Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition
Three Year 13 physics students presented their research at the BT Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition which took place earlier this month in Dublin. The event comprised 550 projects and attracted roughly 40,000 visitors over the course of three days.
Cameron Shaw and Josh Thompson completed a project which was based on local and national air pollution data entitled ‘Fuel for thought: what if we banned petrol and diesel cars from our roads?’. In addition to discussing their work with judges and members of the public, they shared their ideas with a number of Government officials and civil servants who were in attendance.
Callum Barbour, meanwhile, generated a lot of interest among visitors with his project ‘Flippin’ great: investigating the physics behind the bottle-flipping trick’.
