Jess on Target for World Youth Archery Championship

Congratulations to Jess Murray, Year 11, who has been selected to represent Ireland at the World Youth Archery Championships which will be held in Limerick in on the 1st to 9th July 2023.

Jess, a member of Northern Ireland Civil Service archery club and Millenium Archers, Dublin, has been training hard and competing both north and south of the border since the Archery Ireland selectors approached her in March 2023 about possible team selection. During this period, Jess has set 4 new Irish records and increased her personal best score at every competition since March, on her way to securing her place on the 13-archer team. Jess will be competing in the U18 Ladies compound individual rounds plus joining a teammate for the u18 Mixed Team rounds.

This is Jess’s first international selection, but it will not be her last as she will shortly be starting preparations for selection to the squad for the European Championships in 2024.
