Air Cadet Success
Last weekend saw 2241 Regent House school squadron attend the Northern Ireland wing parade for the annual awards distribution, where the squadron were recognised for their success.
Flight Sergeant Megan Dempster was awarded 2017-18 sports cadet of the year for Northern Ireland. Megan Proudly represented 2241 in 2 inter-squadron sports competitions before competing for Northern Ireland in Cross country and athletics and as captain for the Netball and Hockey. She was then selected to compete for Scotland and Northern Ireland region in all four of these sports. The competition this year was very close and Regent house school squadron came out with a respectable third place out of all the squadrons Northern Ireland air training corps for sports.
The squadron also won the Senior RAF officer Northern Ireland (SRAFONI) trophy for the best overall squadron in Northern Ireland, this award is very prestigious and 2241 have now been entered in the competition for the Lees trophy for best overall squadron in Scotland and Northern Ireland region. With our staff Sergeant winning the best adult senior NCO in Northern Ireland wing for all the extra hours of work she has put in over the past year to make the cadet experience as enjoyable as possible. Congratulations to 2241 on all their awards.
