TAEKWONDO SUCCESS FOR SOUL-BE COURTNEY
Soul-be was selected to represent the Northern Ireland ITF Taekwondo Team at the Chang-Un Cup in Glasgow on 21st Oct 2018. There were competitors from across the UK and Holland represented.
The competition comprised of 3 separate disciplines and Soul-be competed in all three at the red belt grade.
The competition began at 9:00 am with the Poomse (pattern) discipline. There were many competitors in the knock out stages aged from 9 to 17 year. Soul-be won the completion, achieving the gold medal.
She then competed in the Kyorugi (sparring) completion, again winning the gold medal at her grade and height category.
Finally, Soul-be competed in the Special Technique (high flying kick) discipline and again achieved the highest kick to win the gold medal.
The day was rounded off with Soul-be being awarded the Overall Individual Female Coloured Belt Junior Champion trophy. This was the same trophy she had won the previous year at the same venue.
In the afternoon she went on to assist in coaching the younger members of the NI squad. The NI team achieved over 50 medals and won the overall event on the day. Soul-be is extremely proud and grateful to be part of such a highly performing national team.
And Regent House is very proud of Soul-be!
