Daniel's Lisbon Rugby Tour

Recently Daniel Moore in Year 8 headed off to the International Youth Rugby Tour to Lisbon with his club, and wrote a short account of his time away!

My International Youth Rugby Festival in Lisbon, Portugal in April 2019

This Easter I went to Lisbon to play at the International Youth Rugby Festival. This was with my old rugby team from Holywood. We were all from different schools and wore our school socks with our Holywood Barbarians tops. We were the only team representing Northern Ireland. There were 115 youth rugby teams from all over the world.

Holywood Barbarians, April 2019

This was an amazing experience. Lisbon is an exciting city with lots of hills, big buildings, nice art, good food and sunshine and really beautiful beaches. The festival was brilliant. There were 32 teams in my category and we placed 20th which we were very proud of as the other teams were a lot bigger than we were. I received an award for great defending and attacking. I got to meet the Prime Minister of Portugal. I would recommend this festival to any youth rugby team.

Me playing no.9 against CR setubal.
